Rich Mullins: A Legacy, featuring artifacts, images, and memorabilia from the life of songwriter Rich Mullins, is now on display in the Dreawell Gallery.
Rich Mullins (October 21, 1955 – September 19, 1997) was a poet, rebel, missionary, activist, and artist who challenged prevailing sensibilities of what it means to follow Jesus in today’s culture. He is best known for such songs as “Awesome God,” “Sometimes By Step,” “Sing Your Praise to the Lord,” “Hold Me Jesus,” and “Creed,” among others. Mullins also had unique connections to Elgin, Illinois. Besides performing at Judson University several times during his career, he lived on campus in 1996 while recording his musical Canticle of the Plains in downtown Elgin.
The Gallery is located in the Harm A. Weber Academic Center and is open to the public Monday-Friday 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM. The exhibit runs through November 15.
