Judson Community Invited to DCWPA Spring Events

The DCWPA will be offering a wide array of interesting performances this semester. The Judson community is invited to attend these exciting opportunities to support our students as well as experience enriching performances by guest artists. Upcoming events in April will include the following:

Judson Jazz Combo | Friday, April 19, at 7 p.m. in Thulin Auditorium | Thompson Hall.

Performing jazz standards you’ll recognize (and some tunes that may be new to you), this amazing Combo will have you tapping your toes and humming along! Ensemble members include:  Jade Bundhund (alto sax, vocals); John Francis (trombone); Ryan Gan (violin); Jaret Godinez (guitar); Anthony Gutierrez (clarinet); Esabella Lee (bass); Trey Lehman (tenor sax, vocals); Daniel Simmons (drums); and Matthew Swift (piano).

Judson University Civic Orchestra | Sunday, April 21, at 2 p.m. in Thulin Auditorium | Thompson Hall. T

he Judson Civic Orchestra is a blended ensemble, comprised of both Judson students and members from the community. They will be performing Johannes Brahms’ Symphony No. 2 as well as An Outdoor Adventure by iconic American composer, Aaron Copeland. Tickets at the door are $10 for adults, $8 for seniors, and are free for students and children.

Chamber Singers & Piano Ensemble Recital | Tuesday, April 23, at 7 p.m. in Thulin Auditorium | Thompson Hall. 

This will be a musically varied program featuring the refined harmonization of our finest vocalists and the flying fingers of our skillful pianists! 

Student Degree Recitals featuring Jaret Godinez (piano & guitar) and Jack Sanders (percussion) | Friday, April 26, at 7 p.m. in Thulin Auditorium | Thompson Hall.

Jaret and Jack are both music minors, and are fulfilling their recital requirement.  Come support these talented musicians.

Spring Concert of WorshipAn A Cappella Extravaganza! | Saturday, April 27, at 7 p.m. in Herrick Chapel | Featuring the award-winning group Vocal Spectrum, The Fox Valley Harmonizers, the University Choir, and the Chamber Singers | Free-will offering.

Jade Bundhund Senior Vocal Recital | Sunday, April 28, at 5 p.m. in Thulin Auditorium | Thompson Hall.

Pursuing a double major in Psychology and Music Performance, Jade will delight the audience with her beautiful voice and stage presence.

Kanyaw Hoo Piano Recital | Master of Arts in Community Music | Tuesday, April 30, at 7 p.m. in Thulin Auditorium | Thompson Hall.

Affectionately known as “Hoo,” this international student from Burma will perform a variety of hymn arrangements and other pieces in fulfillment of his master’s degree requirement.

Aaron Andries Recital | Master of Arts in Community Music | Friday, May 3, at 7 p.m. in Thulin Auditorium | Thompson Hall.

A versatile musician, Aaron will perform original worship compositions in fulfillment of his master’s degree requirement.

Joshua Myatzaw, HopeShare Concert | Master of Arts in Community Music | Sunday, May 5, at 3 p.m. in Thulin Auditorium | Thompson Hall.

Joshua is an international student from Burma who will be both performing on the piano as well as conducting a choir comprised of children from the Burmese Karen ethnic group who have immigrated to the United States.
