Join Us for the Spring Concert of Worship Featuring Award-Winning A Cappella Quartet

The DCWPA’s Spring Concert of Worship is on Saturday, April 27 at 7 p.m. in Herrick Chapel.  It will be an A Cappella Extravaganza featuring the quartet Vocal Spectrum from Missouri, the local Fox Valley Harmonizers, the University Choir, and the Chamber Singers – all without instrumental accompaniment. Be prepared to experience some amazing vocal harmonization!  A free-will offering will be taken.  No tickets necessary.

Vocal Spectrum

This group has been singing together since 2003. These four men, who graduated from Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Missouri, all majored in different fields of study. The group was originally formed as a one-time educational quartet to sing for a local high school and they have never stopped singing since!  They have performed throughout the U.S. as well as internationally.

In 2004, Vocal Spectrum won the 2004 International Collegiate Quartet Contest held in Louisville, KY. And in 2006, they won the coveted International Barbershop Quartet Contest – becoming the first quartet in history to win all 3 possible medals (Collegiate Quartet, Men’s Quartet, and Chorus Medal).  The quartet was inducted into the Barbershop Harmony Society’s Hall of Fame in 2023.

The Fox Valley Harmonizers

Shortly after World War II in 1946, the Elgin Barbershop Chapter was formed. After several name changes throughout the years and the inclusion of women in 2018, the name was changed to The Fox Valley Harmonizers. As their website states, “We are just a bunch of regular people, of all ages, from all walks of life with one thing in common… the love of singing in the barbershop style.”

The University Choir and the Judson Chamber Singers will also perform making for an exciting evening of a cappella harmony!
