This year, the Athletic Department and Coaching staff will have a fresh new look. There are several new first-time head coaches and staff members that Athletic Director Rick Williams has welcomed aboard. His vision is to create an exciting culture around campus that continues to grow.
Matt Richter is the new Associate Athletic Director and Head Women’s Basketball Coach. Coach Richter comes to us from Arizona where he had a great run as an assistant coach.
Jimmie Hawthorne will be the Eagles’ new men’s and women’s head coach for both track and field and cross country. Prior to this, Coach Hawthorne had an impressive 18-year run at Niles North High School.
Alyssa Serewicz-Wido is another newcomer as the Head Women’s Volleyball Coach. She is a local star who has a deep admiration for JU.
Dan Dehaan will be the new Head Men’s and Women’s Tennis Coach. Coach Dehaan is another lifer within the sport that he coaches and is excited to get started.
Finally, the new additions to the Athletic Department include Nick Schaeflein as the new Sports Information Director, and the Eagles are also excited to announce a new partnership with ATI Physical Therapy as our new athletic trainers.
It should be a very fun and exciting year for the department.
