Merit Recital and “Instruments for Jamaica” Fundraiser

This semester’s Merit Recital and “Instruments for Jamaica” fundraiser will take place on Tuesday, November 8 at 7 p.m. in Thulin Auditorium in Thompson Hall. Each semester, the DCWPA features students in this special recital who are currently taking lessons in voice, piano, or various instruments and who have been chosen to participate through an audition process. The Merit Recital offers the performers and the audience an opportunity to “give back” by taking up a free-will offering to purchase jazz band instruments for an elementary school in Montego Bay, Jamaica where the University Choir performs on their international tours with Rev. Dr. Huntley Brown. All are invited to this recital to honor the best efforts of our students as well as to help bring music to children who might not otherwise have the opportunity to learn an instrument.
