Brandon Mackey Wins Judson’s First MSFA Weekly Award in Program History

The Judson University Football program has learned that running back Brandon Mackey has been named MSFA Midwest League Offensive Player of the Week. It is the first time in program history that an Eagle has earned an MSFA Weekly Award.

Mackey accounted for over 200 total yards and had 194 total yards rushing with a touchdown in a 31-9 win over Madonna. Mackey’s effort was a significant part of Judson’s 495 yards of total offense in a convincing victory.

“Brandon has played great for us all year and has been our leading rusher each game this season,” said Head Coach Dan Paplaczyk. “Against Madonna, he ran as hard as I’ve ever seen him run. He refuses to be tackled and many times broke multiple tackles on the same play. His TD run was the best example of it. He broke 3 tackles, had his undershirt ripped, and still got into the end zone. He’s been a great leader on our team and deserves this award!”

Judson looks to win its second straight contest on Saturday as the Eagles travel to Bourbonnais to face Olivet Nazarene beginning at 6:00 p.m.
