The Judson University Athletic Department highlighted a year of many successes in the Judson University Athletic Department. Not only were all of those impressive feats recognized, but the ceremony also served as a ceremonious “passing of the torch” of the Athletic Director role as Executive Vice President Dr. Nikki Fennern thanked Interim Athletic Director Gary Newsome thanked the department for his time at Judson (which does not conclude until June 30) and welcomed new Athletic Director Rick Williams (who starts July 1) publically.
Judson recognized each of the following 12 athletes for winning the following awards:
Women’s Champion of Character: Enola Varga– Women’s Volleyball
Men’s Champion of Character: Randy McRoberts– Men’s Basketball
Women’s Top Individual Performance- Maria Alarcon Martinez- Women’s Track and Field
Men’s Top Individual Performance- Lorenzo Anderson– Men’s Basketball
Women’s Newcomer of the Year: Kelly Leon– Women’s Soccer
Men’s Newcomer of the Year- Lorenzo Anderson– Men’s Basketball
Women’s Breakthrough Athlete- Enola Varga– Women’s Volleyball
Men’s Breakthrough Athlete- Camren Carter– Men’s Track & Field
Men’s Athlete of the Year- Luis Germano– Men’s Soccer
Women’s Athlete of the Year- Alondra Blanco– Women’s Soccer
Men’s Scholar-Athlete of the Year- Max Fortun- Men’s Tennis
Women’s Scholar-Athlete of the Year- Jessica Smith– Women’s Volleyball.
