Gallery Exhibit Showcases Faculty Work

Enfolding the Resplendence, an exhibition of works from the Art and Design and Architecture and Interior Design Faculty is now on display in the David J. and Betty M. Draewell Gallery through Friday, April 8.  A variety of discreet disciplines and media – from architectural designs, construction documents, and renderings, to drawings, paintings, ceramics, prints, and videos, as well as journal publications and books – are represented. Though wide-ranging, the works collectively address our longing to live harmoniously with others and the natural world. Each is an attempt to unearth meaningful relationships as if they were the pearl of great price from Jesus’ parable, not simply to create attractive forms. Although images, words, and clay can never entirely capture those moments when, to our own surprise, we become truly aware of the presence of something or someone other than ourselves, creative works can awaken us to the possibility of such encounters and offer opportunities for them to occur.

The Draewell Gallery is open to the public from 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
