“Unbelievably successful.” Judson University and Love Elgin partnered together last month to serve the under-resourced folks in the greater Elgin Area. The Judson Fitness Center was converted into 30 individual dental offices. Food and clothing were distributed in the Lindner Towers. Five hundred forty-three guests received either dental care, medical care, food, or clothing. In addition, seven individuals prayed with pastors to receive Christ. The Judson Community not only provided the facilities, but Judson’s students and staff also provided 297 total volunteers over the weekend. Scholar athletes from 13 teams made up 246 of the much-needed volunteers. Student volunteers did most of the heavy lifting, as they both unloaded and reloaded two semi-trucks full of food, medical and dental equipment. No doubt the Kingdom of God expanded during the Love Elgin Initiative Weekend.
