Cheer On our Judson Eagles This Spring

Although the school year has ended, the spring sports season continues for several Judson Athletic Programs.

The Judson Men’s Tennis team is concluding their season at the NCCAA National tournament this week in Mobile, Alabama. As of this writing, #4 Judson is 1-1 in pool play with a 4-3 loss to top-seeded Grace College and a 4-0 win against #6 Oakland City.  The Eagles will be facings off at 10 am against Grace College in the title game.  

The Judson University Track & Field programs have two National Championship Meets to participate in in the coming weeks. The NCCAA National Championship meet is May 12-14 in Greenville, Illinois, while the NAIA National Championship will occur May 26-28 in Gulf Shores, Alabama. On their first day of competeition, Ki’waun Seals stepped onto the podium to receive his first NCCAA All American award today after placing 2nd in the Men’s Triple Jump.  Judson jumpers kicked off a strong 1st day as Seals leaped a season-best 13.70m (44-11.50) and Zach Fitzgerald jumped a season-best 13.34m (43-9.75), good for 5th place in the event.  Senior hurdler Francisco Villanueva ran well in his two semifinal races qualifying for Friday’s finals in both hurdle events. Villanueva covered the 110M Hurdles in 15.72 and the 400M hurdles in 59.55, good for 2nd and 5th place in the prelims.  The Eagles are in 5th place entering the final day of competition. 

The Judson University Baseball Team earned an official bid to the NCCAA Tournament, May 21-25. With the Eagles having a 21-20 record, and currently ranked #9 in the NCCAA Nationally, they were seated #4 in the tournament. They will head to  Easley, South Carolina, to play #9 Alice Lloyd College on Friday, May 21 at 4:00 p.m.
