Some Fall Sports Move to Spring

Judson University has made the decision to move their seasons for Men’s Soccer, Women’s Soccer, and Women’s Volleyball until the spring of 2021. This decision was made to follow suit with the CCAC and NAIA‘s decisions to move these sports’ championships to the spring semester.

“Judson University is dedicated to providing the student-athletes in the Men’s Soccer, Women’s Soccer and Women’s Volleyball programs with an excellent competitive experience,” said Vice President of Enrollment and Marketing Dr. Nikki Fennern. “As we pivot these teams to spring, we will continue to provide our players with the best possible team sport experience.”

The CCAC will continue to sponsor a fall cross country schedule for the 2020 season, including the conference championship on November 7 at Aspen Ridge Golf Club in Bourbonnais, Illinois. In addition, the Tennis and Golf programs will continue their plans to play their fall non-conference portions of their schedule, with their conference schedules continuing as planned in the spring. The NAIA is expected to make a decision about the Football championship season on Friday, July 31. “Judson Athletics competes in a great conference that has a very high level of competition. After considering our options, it makes the most sense to delay our schedule for these three sports to the spring semester,” said Director of Athletics Joel Popenfoose. “Our programs are thankful that these three sports will have the opportunity to compete next semester and are excited that our athletes will be able to utilize their God-given gifts during the 2020-2021 scholastic year. Our coaches will continue to work with students over this semester to achieve competitive success while following the CDC guidelines for health and safety.”
