Draewell Gallery Showcases Marissa Voytenko’s Work

Judson’s Draewell Gallery will host an exhibition of work by Marissa Voytenko from January 13 – March 13. Ms. Voytenko is an abstract painter who works in encaustic, a traditional wax-based medium. For her, creating art is a spiritual practice. Her carefully composed images, formed through layering various pigments, offer a visually rich, contemplative experience for viewers.

Voytenko earned a Bachelor of Arts from Westmont College and a Master of Fine Arts from Boston University. Her paintings have been shown both nationally and internationally. Her work is represented locally by Addington Gallery in Chicago and is currently featured in a group exhibition.

Voytenko will discuss her work on Friday, January 31 at 4:30 p.m. in the Harm A. Weber Academic Center, Room 221. A reception in the Draewell Gallery will follow. Both events are free and open to the public.
