Homecoming and Family Weekend 2019

Homecoming and Family Weekend 2019 promises to be an exciting, action-packed adventure for the entire family Thursday-Saturday, Sept. 26-28.

Students will enjoy their Homecoming Dance at The Drake Hotel in downtown Chicago at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 20. See this video created by Judson Student Organization (JSO) to announce the Homecoming location! JSO also has planned the following spirit days leading into the week of Homecoming. Faculty, staff and adult students are invited and encouraged to participate:

Monday, Sept. 23 — Jersey Day  (wear your favorite teams Jersey) 
Tuesday, Sept. 24 — Judson Spirit Day, Women’s Volleyball Game @ 7 PM (wear Judson gear) 
Wednesday, Sept. 25 — Gene Day (Wear as much denim as humanly possible to support our President!)
Thursday, Sept. 26 — Christmas in September
Friday, Sept. 27 — Groutfit Day (All grey everything)

Homecoming and Family Week activities will begin at a new Job Fair prior to Network Night on Thursday, Sept. 26. Students and alumni are welcome to come between 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. to connect with area businesses about internships and possible jobs. Then, attendees will hear from Alumnae Kesha Kelly Kent ’05, ’14 during Network Night. Kent is an empowerment speaker, author and trainer with more than 17 years of human resources experience.

On Friday, Sept. 27, alumni and parents will enjoy the Alumni Chapel before going to the Café for lunch (additional fee). In the afternoon, several faculty and administrators will lead “Going Back to Class” information meetings for attendees to learn more about new programs at Judson. That night, Judson will hold the Athletic Hall of Fame Dinner and introduce the next Hall of Fame Class of Andrea Boyland Hagenmaier (Women’s Basketball, 1996); Vusa Nkomazana (Men’s Soccer, 1998); Rocky DeWayne Robinson (Men’s Basketball, 2009); Samantha Vestal (Women’s Soccer, 2008); and Brent Weber (Men’s Basketball, 1970).

On Saturday, Sept. 28, Wilson Hall alumni will take on the Wilson Hall men in a Disc Golf Challenge, complete with prizes. The Alumni Luncheon and Awards Ceremony will honor our Alumnus of the Year Kristy Engel ’91, global consultant for Health for International Ministries, and Distinguished Alumni of Marcelo ’96 and Lisa Galvao ’95, founders of All Nations Sports Academy, and Mark Vargas ‘04, consultant, tech entrepreneur in health care and political opinion writer. That evening, DCWPA will hold the 20th Anniversary of the Worship Arts Program Celebration Concert with the student choir.

Throughout the weekend there will be plenty of sporting events, a 5K run/walk, face painting, lawn games, and the Fresh Ideas food truck. Check out the complete schedule here, and get registered today! JudsonU.edu/homecoming
