Starting on Saturday, Feb. 2, the Elgin Center for Economic Progress (CEP) will open a tax site on the third floor of Lindner Tower for the 2019 tax season. Once again, CEP will offer free tax help for low-income residents on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, through April 15. Certified volunteers will help low-income families by providing free tax preparation services and legal assistance. The site’s hours of operation are Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 5:30-8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Those interested in free tax preparation services should visit www.economicprogress.org or call (312) 252-0280 for more information about service locations, hours and materials to be brought to the tax site.
